Historical Info (Click Here)

In the late 1970’s, Dave Tasrnowski developed a Phaser and other effects pedals on the west coast of the United States under the company name ADA®. When other major pedal makers started to severely eat into his market share in the early 1980’s, Larry shifted gears with his company and started to produce rack mounted effects, preamps, and power amps. By the mid 1980s, his product line also featured a radical new design of cab for the era, the 2×12 Slant Face Split-Stack™. What made the Slant Face Split-Stack™ so special was the fact that each weighed approximately 45 pounds, so it made transporting two cabs less back breaking than lugging around a heavy and bulky 1960A™ cab for example. Eventually the cabs became ubiquitous  in the fusion shred metal and thrash metal communities.

While initially the guitar amps and cabs product line was a great success, the line was discontinued by the mid 1990s when many popular guitar styles fled solid state amplification for a majority of genres and embraced tube or hybrid ss/tube technology en masse.

This cab really plays well with both solid state and tube amp models in a very different way than the ubiquitous V30 speakers you see loaded in a majority of 2X12 cabs today. The speakers were engineered specifically for rack pre-amp and power amp rigs of the mid 1980s and early 1990s. When they went the way of the dinosaur, so did this cab and these speakers.
