Historical Info (Click Here)

Introduced in the late 1950’s, this amp was considered a student model that many professional guitarists also used for small gigs and studio sessions in the 1960’s. Finding an open back guitar cabinet such as this in that perfect sweet spot of having been used but not abused from that era is pretty rare. The speaker definitely has that 2 to 4 kHz bump to lift your guitar in a mix, but it also has a relatively tight bass response that rolls off gently to allow the guitar to not interfere with bass, drums, horns, or keyboards in a mix. This speaker has a mellower tone than many of the more abrasively nasal voiced 6 inch guitar speakers produced today.
